Memorial Day Weekend Adventure: Wichita Wonders and Off-Road Thrills
Over Memorial Day weekend, we decided to pack up the Jeep and head south to Wichita, Kansas for a little mix of history, culture, and adventure. With the Kansas Air Museum, Wichita Art Museum, and a stretch of the Flint Hills Jeep route on our agenda, it turned out to be the perfect balance of exploration and fun.

Iowa Gravel Series
Over the weekend, I traveled to eastern Iowa to a charming little town called Kalona to photograph the kickoff race of the Iowa Gravel Series. This was the first event of the season, and I have to say—it’s one of the most well-organized amateur cycling races I’ve ever attended.

Indy 50 Gravel Rally 5/3/2025
While it was a bit cold and overcast, the riders all seemed to have a great time. I want to extend a big thank you to everyone involved in making an event like the Indy 50 possible. Most people don’t realize the long days and nights it takes to pull off something like this.

Driving the Indy50 Race Route
Today, Brian and I took the Can-Am out to drive the Indy50 race route and scout the best spots for photos ahead of next weekend. We’re excited to see the riders, whether they’re racing for the win or simply out there enjoying the ride.

Chicago Auto Show 2025
Over the weekend, I decided to check off something I’ve been thinking about for years: attending the Chicago Auto Show. This year, I finally made it happen.

Bird Blind at Chichaqua Bottoms Greenbelt
Today, my daughter and I set out with hopes of spotting some birds. After considering a few options, we decided to try the bird blind at Chichaqua Bottoms Greenbelt, a quiet spot just northeast of Des Moines, IA—about a 45-minute drive from our home.

Looking for Bald Eagles
My wife and I set off on a winter adventure to Alton, Illinois, for the Ice Festival, excited to explore and hopefully spot some eagles along the way. Despite the incoming winter storm, we felt confident in our Subaru with snow tires, knowing we’d be safe on the road. After spending Friday night in Columbia, we finally arrived in Alton and immediately set out to find some eagles.
